Jihyang (Jane) Son is pursuing her undergraduate degree in Piano Performance at the University of Minnesota, where she studies with Dr. Kyung Kim.  Born in South Korea, she began studying the piano at age six. At age eight, she immigrated to Canada and began her piano studies with Dr. Kyung Kim, with whom she currently studies at the University. Jihyang is the winner of  various awards from music festivals and provincials in Canada, and recently placed second in the Thursday Musical competition.

Priscilla Chang began piano lessons at the age of seven. The following year she place
d first in the Dallas Music Teachers Association Solo Competition. After she and her family moved to California, she continued her studies in music and participated successfully in a number of competitions at a young age, including the Music Teachers Association of California Theme Festival Competition, the Musical Arts Club Competition of Orange County and the Cypress College Competition. Other prizes include the Southern California Junior Bach Complete Works Audition and the California Association of Professional Music Teachers State Bartok Competition, the MTAC California State Solo Competition, and the MTNA Senior Performance National Competition. After winning the Southwestern Youth Music Festival Complete American Competition, Priscilla performed at a Showcase Recital at the Colburn School of Performing Arts.  She was also selected, with clarinetist Wesley Yu, to perform the World Premiere of Meditation and Dance by Steven Stucky. During her collegiate studies at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, Priscilla was also selected to perform in a number of school concerts, including the Liszt Extravaganza series given in honor of Liszt’s 200th birthday as well as the Thursday Noon series. Recently, in spring of 2018, she placed first in the Schubert Club Scholarship Competition and Mechelke Scholarship Competition.

Priscilla studied piano with Kyung Ja Bae during her time in California. She later graduated with her Bachelor of Music (2014) and Master of Music (2015) degrees in piano performance from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University under the instruction of Ellen Mack. She is now continuing her studies at the University of Minnesota as a doctoral candidate in piano performance with Alexander Braginsky.
